HOLY MARIA DEVOTION FIGURINE Description: This absolutely stunning porcelain devotion figure of the Holy Virgin Maria dates back to the midst of the nineteenth century in the French Marseille style. The blue ball with stars is symbolic for heaven and with her left foot she steps on a snake symbolizing all evil. She has a lovely devout facial expression. The overly gilding of the Virgin's robe is typical for the French Marseille region. On the front of the base is what looks like a stylish letter M. On the bottom there are two old paper stickers. It is a heavy object made of the highest quality of hard paste porcelain and is hollow on the inside.
