ANTIQUE FRENCH SAPEURS POMPIERS FIREMAN BRASS HELMET

From a Southern CA estate personal hat & helmet collection, this antique/vintage French Fire-Brigade France fireman's helmet. Helmet is made entirely of brass, very ornate detail on front, says "SAPEURS POMPIERS". I was told t are different brass variations of these made from about 1895-1925. Helmet shows age, use, and wear with some tarnish and dings, and is without the red feather plume that is supposed to stick into/out the slot on left outter side of helmet. Helmet does not have a lining on inside w screws are exposed. This is a great display piece!

I was told by the daughter of this estate that the hats and helmets of her fathers collection were authentic and original, collected over many years. As I am not a professional collector or appraiser of hats, weapons, or militaria of any kind, I can only relay to you the information I was told. As to whether or not t are any parts or pieces missing or the verification of authenticity, you will have to be the judge I will take lots of pictures for you to observe and try to answer any questions. Please check the bottom of this listing page for any posted questions and answers which may pertain to additional information regarding this item. Please see the other helmets and hats from this collection!
