This auction is for a lovely antique silk velvet (rayon blend) textile fragment salvaged from a 20s wedding gown in which this is the bodice portion. It is a wonderful shade of French vanilla and is smocked at the very top neckline. The velvet is exquisitely soft like butter and one will absolutely love it. It is in very good condition aside from some minor age mark dots in the center as well as a spot near the very edge, which are really not that noticeable and certainly do not detract from it or using it for your project. This is innt with age and t is really nothing one can do about it. The pile is very close to the surface and it has a wonderful shimmer of cream to vanilla ivory. Photo 1 is the full piece. This measures approximately 14" in length and 13" on other side, 9 3/4" in center from top of smocked neckline to bottom edge, 13 3/4" in width at its widest; neckline is 8". Of course, if you cut away the smocked portion, you will have a larger piece of the velvet. S&H is $2.00
