These were an interesting group of clocks that appeared in the closing decade of the 19th century in France. Sometimes referred to as Acorn Clocks, they were typically hand carved wood cartel cases that housed 8 day time and strike movements plus an Aneroid Barometer and a Thermometer.
for your consideration is this circa 1880- 1890 French Time and Strike Clock, Thermometer and Barometer in exceptionally nice condition. Measurements are 32" tall by 15" wide and approximately 5 1/2" deep. Warm deep walnut original finish also in nice condition. What I believe to be completely all original this pendulum clock keeps good time and strikes on a steel coiled gong once on the half hour with a full hour count on the hour. Original Pendulum and Key are included. This wonderful antique French Weather Station has been very well cared for over the years and is evident in its pristine condition. You will not be disappointed. Stunning hand carved solid wood door with 7" diameter wooden dial bearing applied porcelain roman numerial cartuches and pierced brass hands, all t, all intact with no issues. Barometer is 4" in diameter. Tiered pediment, majestic spindled gallery or widows walk crown as they are sometimes called over 2 full columns, numerous finales, raised panels and carved accents will make this a feature in any decor. Small minor shrinkage split on door above dial on left side shown. Mercury Thermometer is in centigrade and Barometer is labeled in French. The Thermometer is working but I do not know about the Barometer. The large hinged door latches tightly closed. This stunning Clock will be very carefully packed and insured to ensure a safe delivery to your home or business and can be yours if you are the winning bidder. I take extra care in packing these delicate antiques. Please note that antique clocks may need a minor adjustment after shipping. Pendulum will be removed, packed separately and all moving parts will be secured. The Clock will be bubble wrapped, boxed and then double boxed with several inches of packing peanuts.
