Antique and Distinctive Furniture 94. Hide your secrets in this classic turn of the century roll top desk with figured panels & a wonderful secret pull inside. This is a beautiful Antique Tiger Oak S-Roll Top Desk with awesome grain patterns. Swirls cover the writing surface and the panels on both sides of the S-top as well as the back and modesty panel. Be sure to take a look at the picture in our photo gallery of the marvelous swirled grain in the writing surface and side panels. The S tambour is in perfect condition and rolls easily to reveal the fitted interior. The gallery has several document slots and 16 cubby holes, two drawers, and one hidden pencil drawer. In the intricate inside console, t are 16 square open slots, and several flat paper slots. T are small pen and ink drawers on either side and one hidden slide out drawer for your favourite fountain pen. Sadly the matching compartment on the left is missing. The left pedestal has 2 locking drawers, the right has 3, with the one drawer a file-depth drawer. Both pedestals have pull-out writing panels at the top. This desk is in great overall shape, with a fine patina and only the expected amount of wear on the writing surface for its age (turn of the century.) The desk was imported from England. It is a beautiful deep honey shade with remarkable grain. All the mechanisms including the original drawer locks work fine and the top rolls nicely. The hardware is original and the keys for both side drawers and the roll top work exceptionally well . The desk easily disassembles for moving (into the 2 pedestals, the modesty panel, the writing surface, the top, the inside drawer/slot section and the roll-top with its 2 sides.) Made in England around the turn of the century, this medium oak roll top desk is a very practical and attractive addition to your office or study. Approx 48IN High X 46 3/4IN Wide X 28IN Deep.
