Our Ebay Store Antique Victorian Carved Oak Hall Tree This elegant solid oak halltree was hand-crafted in England around 1890 during the Victorian period. Since then, the piece has come to acquire a lovely patina, which is a subtle complement to the distinct oak grain. Carvings in the piece are quite beautiful, some of which are florally inspired; especially appealing are the two flying lion creatures on either side of the mirror and the many faces that majestically adorn this piece. The mirror has a brilliant reflection and has held up nicely over the years with a minimal amount of spotting. A small drawer below the shelf has hand-cut dovetails revealing great craftsmanship and is a great place for your car keys or trinkets. The barleytwist legs, which rest on unique carved bun feet, remain sturdy, as does the general structural integrity of the piece. However t is a small crack on the front left leg, look at pictures below. Useful and elegantly attractive, this Victorian solid oak halltree would make a wonderful addition to any home or office.
