Antique/vintage Oakes Zenith galvanized metal tank oil/kerosene lamp/lantern. VERY unusual. I do not know if this is a railroad, rail way, mine, or barn lamp but it is interesting whatever it is. I know nothing about it, I purchased it in a box lot at an estate sale (I wanted a different lamp in the box). It has been in a storage box in my basement for probably 10 years I think. It is a rectangular shape- measures about 10" long (not including carry handle), 7" wide, and about 2" tall not including the lamp/wick device (I don't know what that is called). That part is about 2 1/2" tall. The cover of it comes off (pictured) and the mechanism w a wick (I guess) would go looks like is made of brass. The turn dial that adjusts wick height is marked "Oakes Zenith". I tried to Google this company and could not find information about the age of this lamp. I looked on Ebay and I don't see anything else like this!! T is a hole to fill with kerosene/oil plugged with a cork. Carry handle is about an inch or so. Weighs about 2.5 pounds without packing materials. Shipping insurance required, or you may pick up in person if you are in the area (southern Illinois). PayPal preferred, but will accept checks or money orders. Payment required within 72 hours of auction close, either by PayPal or by emailing me to let me know that you have mailed a check read more
