THIS IS AN ANTIQUE GAUDY WELSH FLOW BLUE PITCHER / JUG, RARE DESCRIPTION: This milk jug, is under glazed in Cobalt Blue with Burnt Orange flowers The jug has flamboyantly decorated floral sprays, scrolls and borders The jug is trimmed in Copper Luster with green leaves I believe this may be the Marigold Pattern The jug has a handle molded as a serpent CONDITION: T are no chips, no cracks, no repairs T is some crazing brought on by age The marks on the bottom are hard to read, I believe they are a (4 underscored, over a 53 & a 30 in the center), please see pictures T are some bubbles in the Cobalt Blue Glaze area, these are design flaws For its age and considering how poorly this pottery was originally made, this piece is a superb example. It looks as if it has never been used, only for display. T is no discoloration or staining on the white ground, even the inside bottom is still shinny. T are ALMOST NO SCRATCHES, on the surface of this jug. This is a rare find, IN THIS EXCELLENT CONDITION: If you collect early English or Welsh Gaudy Wear this is for you! What great color and decoration!
