Up for auction is an Antique Gebruder Kuhnlenz Doll 165-K Made in Germany. The doll is ball-jointed.She has a dark brunette wig, brown glass open eyes, feathered eyebrows and painted eyelashes. Her lips are painted red and her cheeks are rouged. She has a dimple in her chin. She has an open mouth with four teeth. On back of her head: 29. G br. 165-K. 7. Germany. The doll’s bisque head is in good condition, and may need a little cleaning. Her wood and composition body appears to have been patched and repainted. Her legs appear be mismatched, and one appears slightly longer than the other. She seems to have been re-strung. I got the doll at an auction so I don’t know what work has actually been done on her.I tried removing the wig, but it is stuck tight with glue. I didn’t continue for fear of damaging her, so I’ll leave that up to the buyer who’s probably more expert at these antique dolls than I am. There is also glue on the back of her head and neck, which is stuck to the socket opening in her body. The doll wears a handmade green velvet period dress and hat (with a hatpin), black shoes and white socks. The previous owner has attached a handwritten note on fabric inside the dress: 29 G BR 165 K. 7. Germany. Dress & Hat by Mrs. Glen Kane. The doll is 23" tall.
