ANTIQUE GEORGE BORGFELDT " MY GIRLIE " BISQUE HEAD COMPOSITION BODY VINTAGE GERMAN DOLL A lovely, antique, German Bisque Doll that was made by George Borgfeldt in the early 1900's. It reads on the back of her head " My Girlie III germany " (see photo). This doll has open & close blue glass eyes and an open mouth with four teeth. She has painted eyebrows, painted lashes, and some mohair? lashes. She is jointed at the arms, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. This lovely old doll measures approximately 25" long (without hair or a pate, so she would probably measure more like 26"). She is in good condition with no chips or cracks to her bisque head. Her coloring is still good with no apparent loss, except to her eyelids. Her glass eyes are in good condition and open & close nicely. Her teeth look fine. Her body is composition and wood and may (or may not) be original, although she appears to have been restrung by the look of the cord. There are some flaws to the composition, areas of wear to the finish, cracks (mainly in the middle or her torso, front and back, and her feet) and she is missing her index finger on one hand (see photo). She is missing her pate and her wig. Despite the flaws, this is a gorgeous, old, German Bisque & composition Doll that is well worth restoration! She will make a wonderful addition to any read more
