HOWARD EMPLOYEE FOR 35 YEARS AND INSTRUMENTAL ALONG WITH DANA BLACKWELL IN MARKETING THE E. HOWARD REPRODUCTION CLOCKS. HE WAS ALSO A COLLECTOR OF FINE CLOCKS. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE CLOCKS: This is an absolutely beautiful and very clean 8 day weight driven banjo clock from around 1850 and probably made by george hatch in the Attleboro , Ma area. my father collected many of these hatch style clocks. This clock has many characteristics of the banjos made by George Hatch such as THE removable pendulum bob, the wood pendulum stick, THE CIRCULAR KEYSTONE and the FAMILIAR door latches. it is not signed anyw (as i'm sure you know hatch never signed his dial's or movements) The dial - MOON hands - bob are all original with the dial showing very little flaking around the four screw holes w the dial fastens. the paint is very stable and original. THE MOON HANDS AND BOB ARE IN FANTASTIC ORIGINAL CONDITION . note: no extra holes in the dial area The glasses appear to be original with the waviness and are absolutely beautiful.
