Offered is an antique 1920's "Bonnie Babe" large bisque head baby doll measuring 23" tall. This doll is marked "Copr. by, Georgene Averill, 1005/3652/5" on the back of the neck. This doll was made for Georgene Averill by the ABG (Alt, Beck & Gottschalck) in Germany during the 1920's and distributed by George Borgfeldt. The doll is in very good condition with no major damage and no repairs. The doll head is bisque with open close blue glass eyes and an open mouth with teeth and tongue. The body is cloth stuffed and the arms and legs are composition. The composition limbs have some flaking, loss to the finish from age as you can see. This is the only issue I can find. The doll has a Mama voice box inside the body but it does not make noise. This is a beautiful old doll with great color and a large size. The dress and bonnet are also vintage but Im not sure if they are original to the doll or not.
