A beautiful 18th CENTURY PORTRAIT OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING "PRETTY YOUNG GIRL", in a wonderful period gold ornate frame of considerable weight, the frame is in excellent condition and has a cross stretcher (see Photo) The painting is also in excellent condition with no tears or damage to the canvas, framed size is approx 36ins x 30ins, canvas size is approx 30ins x 24ins. The subject is delightful and is ready for hanging, it perhaps could do with a very light varnish, but personally I would leave it as it is. The painting is not signed but this was the norm as this would have been a commmission painting and it was very rare for the artist to have put their name on it unless it was requested by the person who commissioned the painting.
