This stunning oak tall boy was crafted during the Georgian period in England, around 1800. Though it is more than 200 years old, this piece looks great and can be used as a functional piece of furniture. The oak has developed a gorgeous patina, and should continue to grow more beautiful with time. It has a rich color and very pronounced yet consistent grain. The upper section of this fantastic piece has two small drawers on top and three wider drawers beneath. Each drawer boasts hand-cut dovetailed joints as well as brass hardware (not brand new, but probably not original either). Although these drawers have locks, t is no key present. The lower section of this piece houses four more drawers, each as described above. The legs are short cabriole style, and add a bit of extra sophistication to this already elegant piece. Overall, the condition of this piece is very good considering its age. It looks great, but it does have a few of the problems that naturally come with age, such as an age split in the lower right side. Also t are some very minor nicks and dings that are to be expected from any antique. The drawers are all very sturdy, but the piece as a whole has a tiny bit of give if you push it to one side. This should only be an issue when being moved, and of no concern when the piece is stationary. Also, one of the hardware is missing the pull part. Other than these small issues, this tall boy looks great. It would make a lovely addition to any well-decorated home, so don't miss your opportunity to bid on this fantastic Georgian period piece!
