Presented for auction is this superb Rare Georgian Solid Silver Table Berry Spoon, hallmarked for London 1770 by William Sumner I.

This superb rare Georgian solid silver berry spoon is profusely decorated, the bowl has raised embossed fruits and foliage and is finished off with fluted edges, the handle has wonderful bright cut engraved foliate scrolls with vacant cartouches front and back. It is bottom struck hallmarked to the reverse with the makers mark W.S for William Sumner I a specialist spoon maker, the Lion Passant denoting solid sterling silver, the London assay office Crowned Leopards head and the date letter P for 1770, please see all the additional photos.

Measuring 8 3/4" long approx. it is in superb used condition with no dents, dings, splits or repairs and weighs a good hefty 62grams or 1.99 troy ounces by my postal scales.
