I understand this lot may end while I am out of town. Please know that when you purchase this lot it will not ship until Friday, May 31. Be sure to scroll all the way down (past the terms of sale, etc.) to see a few additional photos. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Description ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Up for sale is gorgeous antique Kestner 171! She is honestly one of the prettiest 171 molds I have ever seen. Her condition is incredible and I doubt she was played with much. She stands at only 20" tall. She is on her original Kestner marked fully jointed composition body. Her modeling is perfect and she has wonderfully pale and oily bisque. Since her pate has the original seal, I have not inspected her from within with a light. I have gone over her head very carefully with a bright light and magnifying glass and can find no breaks, cracks, chips, or hairlines. She has some old, stubborn wig glue residue here and there. Her factory painted face is in excellent condition with no skips or rubs. She has brown multi-stroke brows, rosy cheeks, and an open mouth with coral pink lips with darker shading lines. Her original blue glass sleep eyes function very well, but do not quite close all the way. Her fur upper lashes are missing, as is common. She has delicately painted lower lashes. There are no chips or flakes around the eyes. She has the original felt tongue. Her original plaster pate is still sealed on. I will be removing it for shipping to protect the eyes and head. Since her pate has never been removed, I assume her stringing is original. The head and legs are a bit loose and will need tightening, but she is displayable as-is. Her arms still hold a lot of poses. As stated before, she is on her original marked Kestner jointed composition body. It is in incredible condition! There is very, very little wear even at the joints. The finish is all-original with no repaints. All of the red definition lines on her hands and feet are visible. Her hands still have very visible blushing. There isn't even 1 single chip around the neck opening. She does have 1 teeny chip in her right forearm at the wrist. This doll was taken care of very well in her long life. She is wearing what seems to be her original mohair ash blonde wig in excellent condition. It still has 1 of the silk bows. I love, love her dress! Her gorgeous antique dress fits her perfectly. Look at all of that frothy lace! It has a gorgeous lace jabot style collar with yellow silk rosettes on either side. It is a dropped waist style with lace inserts and lace over the shoulders. The material is cotton batiste. It closes in back with 1 mother-of-pearl button. She is also wearing an antique cotton full slip, antique cotton pantaloons (some separations in the lace at the hem), antique or vintage black stockings, and antique oilcloth shoes with buckles (separation of the material at the ankle). Her pretty yellow satin bonnet is very vintage with vintage flower accents and lace. Mommy told her the weather is still rainy this time of year, so she is bringing her parasol. The parasol is antique or vintage and is in excellent condition. It is made of wood with a marbleized handle. There are 2 tiny holes in the material, otherwise very good.
