Rare German bisque spun cotton Christmas decoration or ornament from the early 1900's. This is part of an estate of an elderly woman who lived in a huge Victorian house and owned a vast collection of these, in which to decorate it for Christmas. Although I'm not an expert, I'm told that there most likely made probably between 1900-1909. Each child has a white unpainted bisque head and spun cotton for their clothes and body. They stand on a "snowy" cardboard platform, decorated with old mica flakes. There are mica flakes on the snowball as well. In regards to the red scarf, belt and shoes I believe it's wool, but that is an educated guess, so therefore not 100% certain. Please study all pics. If you need additional ones let me know and I will be happy to provide them for you. There are some age spots which I was told was from the glue darkening and the belt has lost most of the red fabric, however, despite these flaws, this is the most amazing piece of Christmas history that I've ever seen. The pictures just don't do it justice. It's really quite special! :) If you have any questions please feel free to ask, I will do my best to answer them. Payment must be paid with Paypal only and is due immediately at the end of auction. I do accept returns but only if I've grossly misrepresented an item.
