This auction is part of a larger group of antique Americana and Christmas items that are being listed. Please check out all the other lots. For auction is an antique papier mache FLYING STORK BIRD Christmas ornament from Germany c. 1900-1910. This white stork has a long slender papier mache body with cardboard elements (for the top of the wings and the thin black painted legs). The bird has nice red and black painted highlights on its head and down the throat. The wings include real white bird feathers which only add to the ornament's overall impact. Some black feathers are also attached. When the bird is hung and moved gently, the wings will flap up and down. This is a big decorative item and it measures 6 inches long - a great conversation piece for Christmas! I will combine ship when a buyer has multiple purchases. The quoted shipping amount INCLUDES costs for full insurance and packing materials (please read below for details). Thanks for looking - and bidding ! ! Payment is expected in full within 5 calendar days after auction completion. Item is shipped within 3 days of payment using US Post Office Priority Mail, at a flat rate of $7 domestic (which includes INSURANCE) - due to size and weight.
