antique & genuineold German half doll - boudoir doll c. 1920-35 HERO - made by Lilli Baitz / Berlin ******************************************************************************************************************************************* We are offering this genuine old German half doll / boudoir doll, not often to find in this complete condition. It consists of a shoulderhead (composition or plaster) with its original mohair wig, arms and legs made of bisque, a cloth body and a silk ? dress trimmed with lace. * The shoulder head is marked with Baitz and " HERO". Hero is/was a German female first name (not often in use). The head is molded in excellent quality with blue eyes outlined in black and brown and an open mouth with molded teeth. The platinblonde wig is original to the doll and made of mohair. The shoulder head still retains its original cork and the original wires. * The forearms are wire-jointed and made in a very good bisque quality and with very gracile fingers. The legs are also made in bisque, excellent molded, and marked "Baitz R" and "Baitz L". R stands for right leg and L stands for left leg. * The cloth body is made of fabric (linen or cotton ?). It is stuffed with cotton wool. Personally I would suspect that the body is original unlike the cotton wool stuffing. However, this is not my field read more
