An outstanding German porcelain figure of a Swashbuckler or Musketeer-type character, produced by the Royal Rudolstadt company, circa very early 20th century. A handsome fellow with a realistic looking face, he is wearing the most wonderfully detailed apparel topped off with a large swooping cape and a sword. He certainly exhibits the qualities of a swashbuckler who is known to be 'a fearless romantic archetype, a fictitious, adventurous, sword-wielding, male character who seeks to win the heart of a beautiful lady while rescuing society from the clutches of a dastardly villain.' He is in overall excellent condition with only a chip off the tip of his sword handle and a few minor flakes on the base, none of which detract. Measuring a large 17.25" tall, this is one very fine and impressive display figural!
