Exquisite antique gilt bronze sculpture male nude Adam holding an enameled green bronze apple. The bronze is mounted on a carved marble base signed H. Hahn. The base is carved with a tree and serpent. The detail and quality of this sculpture is the finest example we have seen of Adam with the Apple. The sculpture is extremely well detailed, has a beautiful gold patina and a very expressive and well defined face and body. This beautiful sculpture measures 27 inches from the bottom of the base to the top of his head. From the bottom of his foot to the top of his head it measures 21 inches. The width at the bottom of the carved marble base is 9-1/2 inches. The width from the apple to the tip of his other hand is 12 inches. The sculpture is circa 1900 and is in excellent original condition.
