Antique Gilt Locket w Original Miniature Bee Painting

For Auction- A lovely little hexagonal antique gilt locket with detailed Napoleonic knots around the bezel & beveled glass. It measures an inch in diameter, with an extra 1/2 inch for the hanging loops.The glass & the locket are in good antique condition.
Inside the locket is an original painting (painted in 2009) of a bee beneath a gilt metallic crown. The reverse has a gold star embossed on black paper. A wonderful springtime present for the Queen Bee in your life ! I've long been fascinated with Victorian jewelry, & sentimental pieces in particular. The symbolism & amazing detail are what made me a collector, but the pieces I longed to own were the rare miniature paintings (the eye of a lover, Memento Mori paintings ) and the prices of these put them way out of my reach. So I've decided that I would combine the antique jewelry I love to wear with my own detailed miniature paintings, & that's how these pieces were born. They look very nice with a few together hanging on a thin chain as pictured in the third image.. The smaller ones would look very nice on a charm bracelet & I'll be listing some larger ones which look wonderful on long guard chains.
