This HUGE (over 21 inches long by 12 inches wide) and very old Gladstone Satchel is made of Walrus Hide and has that stamped into the underside with the numbers 2081 on the bottom. We purchased it for display in my husbands den and then moved into a home with no den. It was originally bought it an estate sale of a 91 year old man. The leather is extremely heavy and for it's age in quite good condition. Some of the edges of the handles are frayed and should be conserved. The old brass locks all seem to work but we do not have the original key. When you open it ................it smells old and dank. The inside has lots of marks and little distressed areas and looks well loved. But, overall it is in quite nice condition but as is always the case, all my auctions are "as is" so please feel free to ask any questions prior to purchase in case I missed anything, Make sure you are OK with the shipping charges as this is a very large and heavy bag.
