Antique GLASS MAGIC LANTERN SLIDE Japan FIREMEN'S DRILL Firefighter FirefightingHere is a glass magic lantern slide shown by using a magic lantern "projector" that may have used a candle or kerosene as the light source. This is the all glass type with taped sides. This type can date from early 1900's forward. This one measures about 3 1/8" by 3 1/4". It has a paper label that reads: FIREMEN'S DRILL. Fabulous detail! It shows a large number of firefighters assembled and practicing various feats with ladders! The two groups with the men on the tall ladders may be competing. We have another related slide and it identfies the location as Tokio (Tokyo).We will be selling quite a few magic lantern slides from 2 collections, so keep watching.
