Up for auction is an old Goebel figural grouping of a mythological scene of satyr and goat. It was designed by the artist Gustafsson. It measures 8 1/4 inches long by 3 1/8 inches wide by about 5 3/4 inches in height. The piece is marked on the bottom with the old Goebel mark impressed into the almost terracotta clay. It is glazed in light pinks and light blues. The piece also has the initials G.F. and the mold number 832. Also , in black, the word Germany. The numbers appear to have been stamped individually. For condition we would classify as good. T is an imperfect on the base w it looks like a bit of clay was chipped off the end prior to or during the firing process. The original glaze has filled in much of the loss appearance wise but you can definitely see it. The spot measures about 3/8 of an inch in diameter. The ears, tails and fragile pieces have not been repaired. T is no cracking of the glaze from what we can see. Goebel is one of the premier 20th Century German fine porcelain makers. Individal artist signed pieces like this do not come up very often. We have not seen this exact piece around but it is something we don't usually handle since our focus is primarily on paintings, prints and bronze sculpture. Shipping is $8.95 in the lower 48 United States. Illnois residents please add 7% for state sales tax. Payment is due within 10 days of the auction's end or we reserve the right to sell this item to other interested parties. Thank you very much for attending our auctions on www ebay com
