For some reason the Ebay U.K. site filters from view the posting of sales by U.S. sellers containing the names of some of the better and more highly collectable English and German porcelain companies. I have no idea why this is, however, I do ship worldwide so you are welcome to bid on any of the items. Offered in this sale is a beautiful early Meissen porcelain cup and saucer set that I would date to the earlier 1800s. The cup measures 3 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter while the saucer measures 5" in diameter. Both pieces are marked with an early crossed swords mark which you can see illustrated in the 2nd and 4th images. There are no scratch lines in the glaze over the mark on either piece so these are factory decorated first quality pieces. The decoration on the cup features relief molded classical motifs which are painted with gold gilt. The white background is matte unglazed. The molded border of the saucer is decorated with matte gold gilt while the white background is glazed.
