Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Brooklyn Brownstone . It is made of oak. The lower half has some white spray paint. The original cap is intact. The top has carved quatrafoils on three sides. The shaft has 3/4 round columns at the corners and Gothic Arch panels on 3 sides. It measures 45.25 inches tall by 8.25 inches square at the base and 6.5 inches square at the shaft. Overall it is in decent condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. When we found it, termites had eaten the base and there was some damage in other places. We rebuilt the base with antique oak. Some wood filler will be needed.
