Extremely handsome antique Gothic Revival Gilt Bronze Architectural Plaque showing a swarm of bees attacking two bears as they steal honey from a hive. Probably some type of ornamental furniture mount [or similar] originally; it has a small screw attachment "poke out" in the back [see pics]. However, most buyers will probably want to use it for wall display at this point [it does **not** stand upright on its own]. A very handsome piece with exceptional detail, as shown. An old estate piece from a very good Dallas picker resource. Guaranteed authentic and old and NOT any type of reproduction and obviously authentic as the pics show; you won't be disappointed. FOR WALL DISPLAY OR USE WITH A STAND, DOES NOT STAND UPRIGHT ON ITS OWN: This piece does not stand upright on its own. It can be displayed on a small stand on a tabletop or hung on the wall. It does not have a hanging loop currently, but you could use a piece of wire loop or your local frame shop could affix something and this would probably not be expensive. If used for wall display, it will poke out very slightly from the wall at the top due to the screw poke out in the back [a *very* minor issue, but the perfectionists out t will want to be aware] CONDITION: Excellent condition, as shown. NO pings, dings, dents, scratches, missing pieces, or repairs. DOES show some wear to the gilding [see pics] and note especially the wear to the face of the standing bear. However, it retains at least 97% of its gilding as shown and the gilding is all-original. Overall, the pics are very honest and show the condition well. SIZE: About 6" tall; it is a nice-size piece. MARKINGS: Appears unmarked on my careful inspection, but certainly European and most likely English based on the "Gothic Cottage" aesthetic. ALL REAL MATERIALS: Guaranteed real gilt bronze and not any type of lesser materials and you won't be disappointed. AGE: Guaranteed antique and early (ca. 1860 - 1880) and NOT any type of vintage or modern reproduction and you won't be disappointed. NO RESERVE and a very low start and the pics tell the rest of the story, a nice eBay opportunity. RETURNS: Bid with confidence, I take returns with *no questions asked*.
