Antique Great lakes Native American Indian lidded storage basket made of ash aplint and bundled sweet grass around the rim. Basket is approx. 10 1/4" in diameter by 7 1/2" tall. It has a beautiful design around the outside diameter and the lid has an interesting swirl design. On the inside the wide splints show a faded peach color. T are a few breaks in the small splints. I have taken pics of basket from all sides with the last pic showing the worst of breaks. The basket has a very rich dark patina that only an old basket displays. A beautiful primitive example of expert basket weaving.
