Up for bid is a gorgeous Green Transferware rimmed bowl made by "Swiss Scenery ." It dates to between 1822 and 1835 . The finely detailed picture belongs to a group of Alpine patterns by Joseph Stubbs . It focuses on an elaborate chateau surrounded by mountain scenery. The chateau has a wide winding staircase going up to the second floor. T is a cute little house on top of the second floor. Also pictured are a steepled church and other chateaux in the distance and mountains in the far background. T are wonderful trees around the chateau and the church. You can even see a Father and child looking up to and pointing at the chateau. T are beautiful flowers in the bottom of the bowl and all around the rim. Every item is in shades of green and white. The edge of the bowl is scalloped and has a raised line of dots all around. The bowl is 10 ¼" in diameter and almost 2" deep.This great bowl is backstamped with "J S in script, scrolls and flowers around Swiss Scenery, and Opaque china stamped below the symbol." The inside of the bowl is in perfect condition. The outside edge has a couple of rough spots that I did not try to smooth out or clean. The rim on the base is a little rough and is stained and t are a couple of chips in that bottom rim. T are no cracks or any repairs. The glaze is nice and smooth and shiny.Look at my pictures for the details.
