C. L. GUINAND SPLIT HUNDRED SECOND TIMER TRIPLESIGNED 50mm Circa: 1910. Founded Circa 1865 and became famous for their Timers and Chronographs. This high Grade Swiss maker also made minute repeaters. The dial, case and movement are all marked; "C.L. Guinand". This scarce timer is all original and fully functional. This type of timer was used in the Wisconsin Bell Telephone Co. -- I was told when I bought it several years ago that it was used in calibrating telephone central office equipment-- and it come with a very nice padded wooden dovetailed storage box labeled "Wis, Tel. Co, Traffic Dept." DIAL: Slightly off-white with a 30 minute register and split seconds timer to 100 second sweep. Signed: "C.L. Guinand Locle Switzerland ", and "HUNDRED SECOND TIMER". The split seconds hands are original. There appears to be a tiny chip and some surrounding discoloration at the 40-second mark. Otherwise the dial and crystal are in excellent condition. MOVEMENT: All nickel, complicated, stem and button activating signed" C.L. Guinand", "Seven 7 Jewels". Excellent and original to the case and dial. CASE: Nickel with plated surfaces and some wear on exterior back plate. Signed: "C.L. Guinand" inside of the lid. Double hinged back and bezel. Very nice. 50mm in diameter without the button or stem.
