DESCRIPTION: We are offering a very quaint primitive Americana 100 year old +/- stoneware preserve jar with advertsing from Boston, Mass.. This stoneware jar is fully signed on the front and weighs just under 3 lbs.. A great display size with unlimited decorating possibilities, stands 6 3/8" tall with handle down, circumference 'around the center' is 19", base diameter is 5 7/8". Early primitive stoneware characteristics are noted throughout the jar with spin marks and salt glaze drips. Jar was created with 2 applied stoneware lifting handles. The stoneware on the left handle exhibits the salt glaze not covering the crevice w the handle was attached to the jar, this is not a crack, this was created at the factory. Jar retains it's original OLD wood & wire bail handle that clearly exhibits an oxidized and aged patina on the metal . The lid is 3 7/8" in diameter and is a darker read more
