This is one of the most beautiful jade brooches I've seen in a long time. You are bidding on a gorgeous antique white jade floral design brooch that also doubles as a necklace pendant. It might be Chinese in origin all hand carved out of a single piece of white jade. Guaranteed old and authentic. It has a beautiful smooth patina that only comes with age. This ornately carved jade has either a silver or stainless steel backing with a clasp pin and double ribbon loops if you wish to use it as a necklace pendant. I was told that the backing might have been put on later but it is also obviously very old with some very light surface scratches from normal wear and use. The pin and clasp are in perfect working condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repair marks on the jade. It is hand carved in layers to give the flowers and stems a 3-dimensional look. I think it should be displayed in a museum somewhere. The pictures don't do it justice. The dimensions of the jade are approximately 2" (5cm) in diameter, which is unusually large. You'd be hard pressed to find another one like it. I have never seen a vintage white jade brooch this large and well carved in my 15 years of collecting antique jade jewelry. I am listing this jade at a low starting bid with no reserve and letting the bidders determine its value. It will be well packed to guarantee safe delivery.
