Antique Hand Forged Wrought Iron Fireplace/Hearth Trivet - this is a genuine antique from New England, probably 18th century. It is in excellent condition, all original, solid legs (not bent) with a sliding two level spoon rest. Place the pot on the rack over the coals and you can leave the spoon resting on its rest. I had a 1773 center chimney fireplace home in Mass and used this often for fun with guests or as a part of a colonial life re-live day with my first wife. There are no marks that I can find to indicate the maker. It is obviously hand forged and has style in the way the legs are formed (see 4th photo). It is 3" tall from floor to top of the 7" diameter trivet. Rack is 11 1/2" wide. Overall length is 15". This is a must for anyone with a colonial home with a large kitchen fireplace. Seller ships only to United States. Note: I am listing two other fireplace kitchen tools and will combine shipping for multiple purchases. See my other listings.
