We could not detect any sign of transfer print dots on this beautiful plate. We believe it is hand painted as no designs are repeated exactly as you find in transfers. The cobalt blue is almost black in some spots varying to a light blue, the effect is to give the plate a sense of depth and perspective. An offering of some sort is being made to a royally dressed figure while two guards stand near him with swords at the ready, one of the offering adults is carrying a small child. . The reverse side is decorated with three floral designs, no two similar. The plate is 10 3/16" in diametr1" in height. T is a small chip on the underside, see photo, and another that is very tiny, some edge wear. The yellow on the reverse is some sort of shellac veneer, which has pretty much worn away on the front side but can be seen over the head of the larger figure. We believe it was applied at some time in the past for protection. T is an artist's/maker's chop in the bottom center. No idea as to the date, we would guess 19 th century, but it came in with other antique china and we were told it was in the family for some time over a few generations. "S"
