A graceful jug, heavily gold painted by hand with vines, roses and other florals, this jug is jewelled in pink and green around the wide gilt borders of the base and neck. Lovely rounded hexagonal shape with a slightly flaring neck. It is marked to the underside. All in green, in a circle, "NIPPON NORITAKE HANDPAINTED", with "RC" in the center. "NIPPON" was used between 1891 and 1921. Dimensions: Height 6 ½"; Spout to handle 7 ½"; Diameter base 3 ½". In very good antique condition. Minor losses to the gilt. Wear to the footrim. Surprisingly little wear to this beautiful piece; it was probably a display piece. ABOUT US We've been involved with antiques for many years. We are interested in the eclectic - unusual items fascinate us! Please add us to your "Favorite Sellers" list if you like any item we have offered. We are likely to be offering a similar item within a few months at most. We sell what we like. Please ask any questions that you have before bidding. We frequently do antique fairs and shows on weekends, so would appreciate it if you'd ask questions Monday to Friday. We'll do our best to answer weekend questions too. Shipping, Handling and Insurance We take the utmost care in packing our customers' purchases. We ship worldwide. We invoice on Sundays and Mondays. Items are shipped at least weekly (and sometimes twice), generally on Wednesdays - we request you make payment for your purchases by Tuesday evening so we can ship to you in a timely manner, instead of making you wait for an additional week. Shipping and handling are at cost and will be quoted in advance to our customers on request. We ship Canada Post (and Express Post, as well as other shippers on request). Shipping times for surface are as follows: US/Canada 1-2 weeks; UK 4-6 weeks; Europe/Australia 6-12 weeks. We can assure you that air transit is far superior to surface, and the cost is generally only slightly higher. Sometimes shipments from Canada can take a bit of time, but we can assure they are worth the wait! Shipping costs from our part of the world can be higher than domestic costs in the US, and particularly within Canada. Please don't be shy about asking for a quote before you bid. We will insure your purchases in transit on request at $1.50 per $100 value ($100 value minimum). We will self-insure up to $20.00 value maximum. Payment Payment is expected within 7 days of auction closing. We prefer PayPal, but will accept money orders. A $5.00 premium is required on all money orders and cashier's checks, as well as personal cheques, because of recently implemented bank regulations. We ask that all purchasers contemplating payment by these instruments add $5 to their remittance. OTHERWISE, WE WILL HAVE TO BILL YOU AND COLLECT AN ADDITIONAL $5 BEFORE SHIPPING. AS WELL, PERSONAL CHEQUES ARE OFTEN HELD BY THE BANK FOR 30 DAYS, SO IF YOU INTEND YOU PAY BY PERSONAL CHEQUE, YOU SHOULD EXPECT TO WAIT 5-6 WEEKS FOR YOUR ITEM, AS WELL AS PAYING THE $5 BANK CHARGES UP FRONT. We are sorry for these changes, but we are simply passing on our banking costs. Any questions we haven't answered? Ask us!! Thanks for looking and thanks for your consideration - Tricia-Marne
