This buy it now is for this wonderful, Vintage European hand-woven, pure heavy hemp Stair Runner roll~*~

This length of this runner measures 3.1 yards long by 23.5 inches wide ~

This lovely textile is a hand-woven, European Antique / Vintage hemp roll that was used to make very very heavy grain sacking fabric. This roll dates from c1890 ~ today this fabric would make a stunning table runner, decorative pillows lampshade fabric etc! . This roll has a beautiful dusty, natural , soft slate blue. This fabric has a very open weave, coarse, slightly stiff texture. It would not make comfortable pillows, but beautiful decorative pillows!! ~ Lovely used as a table runner. Wonderful rare color of stripe! The linen is a dark natural tone, Beautiful textile!! Please see condition details below ~*~* I have attached photographs to the end of the auction of a couple of my rolls used in some homes of my customers, you can see how lovely they look! I too love knowing that these textiles were produced without the use of chemicals so are totally natural, organic textiles~*~* ~*~** ~*~*~*( runner 5175)

CONDITION : This roll is in original, unwashed, unused condition. Half of this length has storage marks on the edge that extend into the roll by about 1.5 inches. So, this should be taken into account in the project. These storage marks will become paler if washed, but they will not fully wash. The last yard has some pale marks that also I don't think will fully wash. Condition reflected in the price ~ ~*~

These textiles are built to withstand generations of use~ To measure your stairs, simply lay a piece of string and follow the entire area as the runner will lay, then simply measure the string! ~*~* ~*~ I have sold many many of these rolls as stair runners and people have raved about them for a very long time. Fitting is usually done with a thin felt underlay and then either tacked, nailed or stapled to the stairs or stair rods can be used. This roll would also be wonderful cut into smaller rugs, table runners, stair runners or hallway carpeting OR would make a very rustic table runner~ it has a wonderful unique look, very special indeed~*~ ~*~!!! It would give so much warmth and flair to any room! ~*~ ( I have attached a couple of photographs of my runners in use~ so beautiful, so unique ~ a lovely piece of textile history; brought back to add beauty to our lives today~*~ )
