This handwritten journal was written by the young 24 year old woman named Leona A. Reichert from July 16- August 20, 1924. She was born in the year 1900 in Ohio. Included with the journal is a some pages of research notes that I took while reading. That includes all the names and places mentioned and also a census record of Leona, her parents, her three younger siblings, and the family's hired man. There is also a few other notes. The journal is a documentation of a trip "west" taken by Leona and her friend Margaret Kramer. They start at Dayton, Ohio and travel to western Iowa and Kansas stopping to visit friends and family along the way. They are farm girls and they stay at the family members and friends' farms. Along the way they stop in Chicago, Illinois and visit the sight of the famous Leopald and Loeb murder. They also stop at the famous Marshal Fields department store. Leona talks about the train ride and all the places they go. It is a very interesting read. About twenty of the pages are completely filled front and back and the rest are blank. It measures 3.5x6 inches. You will receive the exact journal from the pictures. I combine shipping on everything in my store. Feel free to message me with any questions.
