Up for auction is this wonderful early metal primitive hanging lantern. This great old lantern is about 11 1/2 inches tall, 16 inches tall including the top ring, and about 6 inches wide including the side rings. It has four glass panels, which are protected by four metal rings which run through and around three sides. The forth side is the door, and this panel slides completely up and off to expose the candle. The candle inside looks to be almost as old as the lantern, and you are able to pull out the candle on its own little tin candle carrier/holder . The top of this beautiful lantern has a pierced design of a star with a burst around it, and the bottom edges of three sides have small pierced stars. This lantern is in good shape, with a nice coat of surface rust to show its age. T seems to be a small piece of tin missing from the top of the rear glass panel (see photo) which is not even noticable. This is truely a great looking antique lantern!Insurance is included in shipping costs.
