Old picnic basket with slat sides, wood lid that hinges in center, bentwood handles, tin lining, leather strap closure. Stenciled on top "Hawkeye Basket Refrigerator. Patented in Burlington, Iowa" Refrigeration would come from the fitted container inside that held ice and would keep the food cold (somewhat). Measures 20X12 inches; 11 inches tall. Good overall condition for age. Sides & handles not broken. Top lid is not broken but shows wear on ends. Interior is clean but has paint loss at bottom of basket & also bottom of ice container. Ice container contours to end of basket & has metal pieces that hold it in place. Thank you for LOOKing AT PHOTOS; they are considered part of the description.
