Title: Antique Heavy Cast Iron Stagecoach Lock Strongbox Security Box Ornate Handles Description: Presented for your consideration is this antique stagecoach strongbox. The box is made of heavy, thick cast iron and features ornate handles on the right and left hand sides with a large hinged lid on the top. A loop feeds through the latch and a padlock was placed through the loop to keep the lid from opening and closing. No padlock is included with this box. Lid easily opens and closes. These boxes were put in stagecoaches to secure jewels, money and small items of significant value. This box could still be used today to secure documents, cash, jewelry or other small valuables. No name is marked on the box to indicate a manufacturer. This neat box would make a great addition to any general antique collection! There is some wear and light oxidation present on the exterior of the box. Some oxidation is also present on the interior of the box. No dents or breaks. Overall in VERY GOOD condition.
