NOTES ABOUT ITEM via Ebay: Antique. Never opened with original seal. This is a "HENNESSY JAs. HENNESSY & Co. COGNAC 84 PROOF 4/5 PINT bottle. Produced and bottled in France. The label also reads Sole United States Distributors Schieffelin & Co. - New York. Importers Since 1794. The bottle has TAX PAID stamp on the top of the bottle as seen in the photos. The bottle also features a State of Illinois Series N tax stamp. It reads "Alcoholic Liquor Revenue 1/5 Gal. Tax Paid at the Rate of $1.00 per Gal." The label on the back of the bottle reads "HENNESSY COGNAC is the distillate of wines carefully chosen by us from the best produced in the Cognac district to which SUNSHINE, SOIL, TIME & OUR CARE have contributed to form an inimitable spirit; it is accompanied at the time of importation by the Aquit Regional Jaune d'or. At any time whether before, during or after meals it can be enjoyed as: A LIQUEUR: Warm the glass in your hand, drink slowly and inhale the fragrance of the vineyard. A BEVERAGE: It flavours soad, plain water or ginger ale to make a refreshing long drink. Since 1765 QUALITY has obtained for HENNESSY the largest Brandy sales in the world. Jas Hennessy" .
