Internally foxing & spotting to plates, but generally a readable and historical book. Hardback , no dustjacket. � Fine Victorian steel engravings of the chief female characters from the plays of Shakespeare. Each character is also described in a critical essay to accompany the image. 36 plays provide heroines. All are pictured in high victorian romantic style.
