This is a beautiful Vintage Full size Violin. The Lable says "Jacobus Stainer in Abfam prope Oenipontum 1724". It is a German or Austrian made Violin, from the 1920s or earlier. The back measures 14 1/8th inches, and is very nicely flamed. It looks like a good quality violin, fully blocked and lined. The condition is also very good with No top or back cracks, but the side near the chin rest has a small broken area(see pics). The back center seam has also been repaired, and the bottom edge needs to be glued(see pics)The violin needs to be repaired to be made playable, edge glued, new strings, post, bridge etc.The varnish a a very pretty deep amber pumpkin color.Stainer violins usually make excellent sounding instruments. This one is higher quality than most.Buyer gets FREE shipping in the USA.
