I will list several Antique Staffordshire Bowls and Plates this week. Most are featured in the Petra Williams reference book Staffordshire Romantic Transfer Patterns They are generally in excellent condition; any exceptions are noted below . DESCRIPTION An American Historical Transferware Plate printed in Black. It depicts the Race Bridge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Included in the central scene are many figures in fore and backgrounds and a man manuevering a boat on the river. Behind the bridge are architectural structuresThe rim has an ornate border of floral clusters that descends into the well. . The unevenly scalloped rim is slightly concave. The plate is finely potted. Produced circa 1840. An Early Transfer Ware Example in Good Condition IDENTIFICATION Printed Marks : On a banner beneath The Race Bridge Philadelphia is JACKSON'S WARRANTED Also numeral 6 DIMENSIONS Plate: Diameter 9" CONDITION 2 flat chips on the back rim that are not visible from the front on the plate (see photo 3 at 9 and 12 o'clock). N o other chips. No cracks, discoloration or significant scratches. Pattern is complete and crazing is not evident.
