ANTIQUE HNS AMBER FIRE GRENADE MINNEAPOLIS MINNESOTA No Reserve!!! You are bidding on one antique fire grenade / extinguisher. The grenade / bottle and labels are in fantastic condition considering the age of this item. The wire around the neck of the grenade is still intact as well. There is a hole in the cork from which it is believed that the fluid was drained from. The grenade labels and markings read as follows (See photos as well): Neck of grenade - "Diamond" Side of grenade - "The Nutting - Fire Grenade - Minneapolis Minn. - Patented March 1889" Side of grenade - "How to Use - In case of fire throw or break the GRENADE So the contents will be scattered in the flame" Side of grenade - "HNS" (Molded as part of the glass) This item used to belong to my father Paul G. Williams. At the pinnacle of his career, he was the fire chief of Balch Springs, TX. Previous to that he was a firefighter for Balch Springs and was also in the fire brigade of the Air Force. The money that is made from this auction will go directly to his widow as he passed away in 2009 at the age of 67. He was always on the lookout for great memories and memorabilia related to firefighting. He is truly missed. I will be posting additional items from his collection from time to time.
