Up for auction is a vintage Hobe bezel brooch Hobe Mark is "1903 to 1917" 2 1/2 long and 1 1/2 wide. I'm not an expert and knew nothing about Hobe. I found the pin in my Dad's collection. So I researched the pin before I listed it. I have read that Hobe sometimes used semi-precious gemstones during the early years. So, this could be Citrine & Sapphire, or if not then it is in Real clear Rhinestones. It appears to be in Sterling Silver, but he also made jewelry from silver tone which is rhodium plated, but I think that was much later. The piece is in great vintage condition and my pictures fail to capture the beauty of the piece. Either way it is a beautiful pin. I am putting a reserve Price on this piece because it is valuable, and I would rather keep it than sell it at a unfair price. Condition: Excellent. All stones and prongs intact. No darkening, scratches, or corrosion. I've also shown a later picture of the same style but with gold rhodium plated wire work. My pictures are not as clear as this one.
