You are bidding on an Antique Chinoiserie Decorated Slant Lid Secretary Desk. This piece is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty and dates back to the late 19th Century Circa 1890 American made. This was made and labeled by the famous R.J. Horner Furniture Co who is world renowned for making some of the BEST in high end case goods of their time. It sits on BEAUTIFULLY curved French cabriole legs with scrolled feet that are nicely splayed. The top corner of each leg has a beautiful shell crested floral motif which is al accented in beautifully gilded trim as shown in the photos. It has a sinle drawer and slant lid design with 2 smaller curved drawers which are all doweled and dovetailed together with mortise and tenon construction and brass pull handles that have a floral pattern etched into the brass itself. The interior of the desk has beautiful gold stringing inlays going throughout the edges of the desk as well as the interior drawers and pigeon holes. The outside of the slant lid is beutifully curved and contoured with great depth, dimension and detail to the design. It has nice floral carved detail going around the edges with beautiful oriental scenery all throughout the piece including the very top. It has figural designs with birds, flowers, roses, and beautifully gilded accent trim and a nice aged finish which is all original and factory done by Horner. It has BEAUTIFUL oriental scenery all throughout including the sides with beautiful floral foliage al in various colors and beautifully gilded accent colors. This makes for a beautiful accent because of its size that can be used in a hallway or foyer, living room, bedroom, library, study and anyw else throughout your home. It has a beautifully crackeled age finish original to the piece and naturally aged. This piece was VERY WELL made with quality that surpasses ANYTHING made today and is all wood construction but Please understand that this an antique that is all original so it has some minor imperfections on it but overall its in excellent shape. This piece measures approx 33 inches wide, 42 1/2 inches high and approx 19 inches deep.
