ASIA EUROPE AUSTRALIA AMERICA AFRICA. If any potential purchaser checks this company out on the web they will find a GRACE'S GUIDE TO BRITISH INDUSTRIAL HISTORY and on there it shows one of the company's advertisements dated 1916 where they proudly declare that they are WHOLESALE MANUFACTURERS OF MILITARY ACCROUTREMENTS TO THE MILITARY. HARNESS-RIDING SADDLES-BRIDLES AND LEATHER GOODS. So there is every possibility that this brush may have been used to groom a WW1 War horse! Greatrex started business in 1755 and became a limited company in 1907. The image of the trademark/logo on that advertisement from 1916 is also embossed on both sides of the top of this horse brush. The leather is still in fine shiny condition and the bristles full and firm. An amazing little piece of history this lot especially as it is the centenary of the first World War. Don't miss out.
