Up for auction is an antique horse drawn wagon that looks to have been used as a mail wagon along Route 10 in Marlowe, West Virginia. Comes from local Cumberland, Maryland auction with no history. Length is 15 feet by overall height of 80 inches. The box or compartment measures 64" long by 53" high by 35" wide. Vinyl cloth top and sides. Wheels are 36 inches in diameter. Frame, floor, ceiling, doors and hardware all look to be original. Cloth is newer with new strips that hold it on. Paint and varnish is not new, but looks to be fairly recent. Rolls and turns smooth. Front window is glass and lowers for ventilation. Doors on both sides have glass windows and slide on a round bar guide. Cast iron foot steps on both sides (early running boards). How can you not like this wagon! Condition is overall very good. T is a 6 inch tear in the cloth on top front. Picture of just the wheel is the worst wheel with some splitting or minor damage at top spindle. Some of the small strips and trim have splits or cracks. Definite wear and use.
